Our Story
THE DANCE REVOLUTION IN SHANGHAI
Fly & Sofia Dance Center was born from a deep passion for social partner dance and a mission to bring the world's most expressive dances to the heart of Shanghai. We believe dance is a universal language that connects people across cultures.
From the wave-like flow of Brazilian Zouk to the sensual energy of Bachata Fusion, the vibrant beats of Salsa On1, and the intimate connection of Kizomba Fusion — every style we teach gives you not just technique, but a lifestyle.
The fastest-growing social dance community in Shanghai.
International instructors with world-class experience.
Classes for all levels — no experience needed to start.
Sofia began dancing at the age of 5, combining dance, singing, and stage performance from an early age. She received a five-year university scholarship in Social Cultural Service & Tourism, during which she participated in ballroom competitions and cultural events across Eastern Russia.
Alongside her studies, she worked as a dance teacher, teaching children and teenagers aged 5–16.
After moving to China in 2010, she learned Chinese and expanded her artistic training. In 2012, she relocated to Shanghai, performing as a singer and dancer in a live band, gaining extensive stage experience. She trained in jazz, modern dance, hip-hop, and Latin styles, and performed professionally across more than 200 cities in China, participating in commercial events, stage productions, and brand promotions.
Her performance portfolio includes collaborations with Royal Caribbean (Quantum of the Seas), Buick, Museo Restaurant, and the music video "Amo y Mendigo."
In 2017, Sofia transitioned into social partner dance, focusing on Brazilian Zouk, Bachata, Kizomba, and Salsa.
